Describe why you enjoy math: I enjoy math because I like the challenge and learning new ways to problem solve.

Describe how you anticipate using math in your future: I am majoring in engineering in college and hope to possibly have a career in aerospace, in which math is crucial. I hope to be able to tutor kids in math part-time, while in college because I enjoy teaching math too.

I have been involved in my community through the following service projects: Local church projects, Lions Club projects, Salvation Army bell ringing, organizing river cleanups, and helping kids with homework through a local organization.

My favorite project was: New Braunfels Kids Club because it was a great opportunity for me to give back to my community by doing something I love, teaching kids!

I have set the following goals for myself for the next:

  • 1 year: My goal is to be completed with my first year of college and selecting a more specific engineering path.

  • 5 years: My goal in five years is to have an engineering degree and have a good internship or job, and be able to do what I love!

My teacher has inspired me to consider studying engineering in college. Originally I was going to study business, but my teacher helped me realize that I would really enjoy studying engineering.

My favorite subject in school has been: Definitely math. I have really enjoyed calculus!

My favorite extra-curricular activity has been photography, weightlifting, or dancing. I like staying busy by doing stuff I love.

The most challenging thing I have ever experienced is: One of the most challenging things for me during high school has been developing several autoimmune disorders and learning to navigate life in school while being anaphylactic allergic to nearly 20 different foods. Using my EpiPen and going to the emergency room has given me a greater appreciation for the little things in life and has taught me how to overcome trials, even death.

My greatest accomplishment to date has been: One of my greatest accomplishments is being accepted to attend my dream school, Texas A&M, to study engineering. Coming in a close second is my photography which was featured by Vogue Italia!
